The Malaga golf club will host from 28th November to 1st December, a tournament that will close the Ladies European Tour season and will bring together the best players on the European circuit

The Real Guadalhorce Club de Golf, located next to Malaga airport, and just fifteen minutes from the centre of the Andalusian fashion city, will be the setting for the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España 2024 presented by Oysho, a tournament which, as has been traditional since 2020, will close the Ladies European Tour season.

The course was inaugurated in 1989, designed by Kosti Kuronen and redesigned by Miguel Ángel Jiménez in 2007, and will host for the first time in its history a top-level women’s tournament. “We are very excited about this new challenge for the club, which will provide members with a first class live show and will position the club as a national and international benchmark. Guadalhorce has been the scene of numerous Spanish championships in different categories, including the Spanish men’s professional championship in 1999 and 2002, with Miguel Ángel Jiménez winning both editions. I would be delighted if one of the andalusian players were to be this year’s winner”, says Ángel Gancedo Arjona, president of the club.

The Guadalhorce course is a par 72 with two distinct parts: the first nine holes are typical English “parkland” with unsophisticated vegetation, extending over gentle hills and watercourses, while the second nine holes have more diversified fairways and water areas that influence five holes. But undoubtedly the greatest difficulty of this course lies in its greens, which are fast and difficult to execute. The wind, usually present on the course, will be the other big factor to take into account, and will determine the experience of the professionals on this exceptional course.

The design of the Real Guadalhorce Club de Golf, built on the grounds of the Cortijo Colmenares, a former residence of the Marquises of Larios built in the 18th century, is complemented by a very special clubhouse, an authentic Andalusian farmhouse that has even preserved a small chapel, but which has managed to modernise with various sports facilities that make it the Malaga club of reference.

The Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España 2024 presented by Oysho, which will be in its 22nd edition and which has two Spanish players in its trophy cabinet, Azahara Muñoz and Carlota Ciganda, will put the finishing touch to a season full of tournaments, in which the Ladies European Tour has broken the record for tournaments and prizes, with 700,000 euros to be distributed among the 72 professionals who will meet in Guadalhorce.

The Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España presented by OYSHO will be held from 28th November to 1st December 2024, and will once again be the final event of the season on the Ladies European Tour, which will in turn crown the winner of the ranking for the 2024 season.
