The Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España presented by Oysho 2026 will welcome Paula Balanzategui, Balma Dávalos and Anna Cañadó as its invited amateurs. The three Spanish players will take on the Ladies European Tour professionals from 26–29 November on La Cala Resort’s Europa Course in Mijas, Málaga, where the Celia Barquín Award, presented to the leading Spanish amateur in the competition, will also be at stake.

The Royal Spanish Golf Federation has confirmed Paula Balanzategui’s participation as the reigning Spanish Women’s Amateur Champion, while Balma Dávalos and Anna Cañadó have secured the other two places through the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).

Paula Balanzategui heads into the tournament following her victory at the 2026 Spanish Women’s Amateur Championship, the eighth Emma Villacieros Memorial, held at Pula Golf. The San Sebastián native came from behind on the final day, starting three shots off the lead and carding a 70 to win with a total of 287, three strokes clear of her nearest challengers. Her season also includes gold with Spain at the European Ladies’ Team Championship, further strengthening her credentials ahead of her appearance at La Cala Resort.

The Basque player has also pursued her collegiate career at Michigan State, where she finished the 2025–26 season with four top-10 results. These included runner-up finishes at the Spartan Sun Coast Invitational and the Carolina Challenge Cup, rounding off a successful year both in the United States and with the Spanish national team.

Balma Dávalos brings an international record highlighted by her runner-up finish at the 2025 European Ladies’ Amateur Championship, where she shared a historic all-Spanish podium with Paula Martín and Andrea Revuelta. The Castellón native continued to impress this summer, joining Balanzategui in Spain’s European Ladies’ Team Championship victory and finishing 10th at the 2026 European Ladies’ Amateur Championship in Sweden.

A member of the Auburn University team, Dávalos has also excelled on the US collegiate circuit. During the 2025–26 season, she finished runner-up at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational and the Illini Women’s Invitational at Medinah, and earned All-American honourable mentions from both the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) and Golfweek. Her inclusion brings a player with experience of contending for national and international titles to the tournament.

Anna Cañadó, meanwhile, combines her golfing career with her studies at Duke University, where she claimed her first collegiate title at the 2025 Chattanooga Classic. During the 2025–26 season, she added a fourth-place finish at the Windy City Collegiate Classic and fifth at the Sea Best Intercollegiate. Her achievements also include the 2022 Spanish Under-16 and Under-18 Championship titles, as well as being part of the victorious European team at the 2023 PING Junior Solheim Cup.

The Catalan player will arrive in Mijas with recent Ladies European Tour experience, having made her circuit debut at the Hulencourt Women’s Open in Belgium in July. She made the cut and finished tied 59th, becoming one of only two amateurs to complete all four rounds. That experience will give her a better understanding of the demands of professional competition.

All three will compete for the Celia Barquín Award, established in 2022 to recognise the tournament’s leading amateur and honour the Cantabrian golfer, who won the European Ladies’ Amateur Championship in 2018. Last year, Andrea Revuelta claimed the award after finishing 15th and also ending the week as the highest-placed Spaniard at the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España presented by Oysho.

The Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España presented by Oysho 2026 will bring the Ladies European Tour season to a close from 26–29 November at La Cala Resort, where Spain’s amateur talent will once again share the stage with the tour’s professionals. Four days of competition will put Andalucía and the Costa del Sol back in the international women’s golf spotlight.
