Azahara Muñoz, Ana Peláez. Laura Gómez and Noemi Jiménez make up the local trio that will be present at the tournament that will close the Ladies European Tour season from 24th to 27th November at Alferini Golf (Villa Padierna), Málaga, Spain.
Andalusian women’s golf will be well represented at the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España 2022, a tournament that will bring the Ladies European Tour season to an end from 24th to 27th November at Alferini Golf (Villa Padierna).
The local players who have confirmed their presence at the course located in the Costa del Sol town of Benahavís and who will compete against the best golfers on the Ladies European Tour are Azahara Muñoz, Ana Peláez, Laura Gómez and Noemi Jiménez.
Four aces that make up a magnificent Andalusian poker and that arrive at the last event of the season with very different pretensions: Azahara Muñoz has returned to competition only three months ago, after becoming a mother of her first child, Lucas, last February, but having won this tournament in the 2016 and 2017 editions make her always a name to keep in mind.
Ana Peláez, meanwhile, will arrive at Alferini Golf thinking about putting the icing on the cake to her magnificent season. The player from Malaga occupies the fifth position in the Race to Costa del Sol, which will be decided after the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España 2022. She has signed a victory when she won the Comunidad de Madrid Ladies Open held last May, and she also has achieved five “Top 5” and will surely have in mind to improve the eleventh place of last year harvested in this event.
That position was occupied by Laura Gómez as well in the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España 2021, so it will be the bar that the golfer from Marbella will set herself after a season in which her best results are been fifth and seventh place in the LET.
Noemi Jiménez completes the Andalusian roster that will be present at the Villa Padierna complex. The player from Marbella has alternated this year’s LET with the LETAS and in the latter circuit she has come close to victory on two occasions by finishing second, as well as a fifth and a sixth place.
The Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España, as well as closing the Ladies European Tour season and proclaiming the winner of the Race To Costa del Sol for the third consecutive edition, will be the fourth event of this circuit to be held this year in our country with a prize money of 650,000€. It will be also a bonus of 250,000€ for the top three classified in this order of merit of the European Women’s Tour.
