- The entity will be one of the main sponsors of this important golf competition.
- Francisco Salado, president of the Provincial Council and Costa del Sol Tourism, assures that this event will once again place the Costa del Sol at the centre of the world golfing scene.
Turismo Costa del Sol continues to support women’s golf and does so by supporting once again the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España presented by Oysho. From 28th November to 1st December 2024, the Real Guadalhorce Golf Club in Malaga will become the centre of attention for women’s golf with the celebration of the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España presented by Oysho, the event that will put the finishing touch to the LadiesEuropean Tour (LET) season.
With Turismo Costa del Sol as the main sponsor, this tournament consolidates itself as an ideal platform to promote the region, attracting sports lovers to one of the most important golf destinations in Europe.
The Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España presented by Oysho is one of the most prestigious tournaments on the LET calendar, bringing together the best players on the circuit. The 2024 edition will not only be key to define the winner of the Order of Merit of the European circuit, but will also allow players and attendees to enjoy a camp located just minutes from the city of Malaga, a unique place for its rich cultural, gastronomic and tourist offer.
In addition, the Costa del Golf continues to prove its firm commitment to women’s sport and will host the Open for the eleventh time in its modern stage, after the editions held in Flamingos (2010), La Quinta (2011 and 2018), Aloha Golf (2016 and 2019), Real Club de Golf Guadalmina (2017 and 2020), Los Naranjos (2021), Alferini (2022) and Las Brisas (2023).
The president of the Provincial Council and Costa del Sol Tourism, Francisco Salado, has expressed his satisfaction that the destination will once again host a renowned competition such as the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España presented by Oysho, ‘which will once again place us at the centre of all eyes on the golfing scene worldwide’.
‘Our more than 70 golf courses make the Costa del Golf the European continental destination with the highest concentration of facilities. The excellent equipment that we have also has an enormous wealth of tourist products that are fundamental for attracting fans of this sport at a national and international level,’ said the president of the Malaga Provincial Council and Costa del Sol Tourism, Francisco Salado, highlighting the great effort in terms of infrastructure that the destination has made in recent years. ‘There is no doubt that the celebration of events such as the Opens is an excellent opportunity to showcase the facilities we have, in a state of readiness throughout the year,’ he said.
Salado also pointed out that golf and the virtues it generates in tourism on the Costa del Sol must be highlighted, as well as its potential: ‘At Costa del Sol Tourism we have been committed to golf as a tourist product for many years, as it is a fundamental factor in the deseasonalisation, as the high season for this sport does not coincide with that of general tourism’. Salado also pointed to the golf tourist as a particularly interesting profile for the province: ‘I never tire of repeating it, golf still has great potential for growth and brings significant benefits for the Costa del Sol with clients with high purchasing power who generate wealth and boost other complementary segments’.
Finally, Salado stressed that golf is a segment of considerable attraction for tourists and of great promotional value: ‘Once again, we should be proud of the joint work of various institutions, which have once again rowed in the same direction for the promotion of a tourist segment, such as golf, which brings so many benefits to the Costa del Sol destination, demonstrating that our destination is amply prepared to host this type of event.
